The iconic Jaquet restaurant, one of the historic spots in Funchal’s Zona Velha, has reopened under the direction of Chef Júlio Pereira and the KAMPO group, now named Jaket. The aim is to preserve the welcoming and traditional spirit of the restaurant while combining Madeiran tradition with contemporary gastronomy. The new menu remains faithful to regional cuisine, featuring dishes, snacks, and “dentinhos” prepared with fresh, local ingredients, alongside a selection of typical drinks such as poncha, laranjada, local wines, and Bebida de Arraial. The Chef states he is “very happy to give new life to Jaquet,” preserving the traditional tavern atmosphere and the flavors that have been part of the island’s culinary history.
